is a non-profit trade association dedicated to serving the needs of the nation's over 4 million owners of sub-surface oil and gas rights. Good page, full of suggestions of things you should and should not do as a royalty owner. NARO - Texas NARO-TEXAS is the Texas division of NARO. NARO Texas sponsors an annual educational meeting - don't miss this if you live in Texas and have royalty interests! Railroad Commission of Texas Homepage These folks regulate the oil and gas industry in Texas. Of note on their site are the following links: Production Data from the Texas Railroad Commission If you have royalty interests in Texas for either gas or oil wells, then you can check the production data via an on-line query. The data is reasonably current, and dates back to 1997. Railroad Commission Oil and Gas Division Contacts - A list of people to call with any questions, including finding out whether or not a particular well is still active, who the operators or purchasers are, etc. What's New on the Railroad Commission Homepage For late breaking news or updates. Unclaimed Property Help Desks - If you are a "Missing Royalty Owner", chances are that your money has wound up in an unclaimed fund somewhere. This is a list of phone numbers/contacts for tracking down those unclaimed funds! The National Unclaimed Property Database Free searches for unclaimed property access the US (it doesn't seem to include Texas). You must register to use it, but registration is free. Search results show property owners' name, last known address, type of property, value, and agency contact. Worth keeping an eye on. Oil and Gas Companies on the 'Net Courtesy of sci.geo.petroleum, this is the most comprehensive listing of oil and gas company homepages. Gasearch.com Ever wonder if you are being paid the correct amount for your oil or gas? There are two sites of interest on the gasearch.com site that can help you answer this question: Texas Pipeline Pricing Index Monthly average prices paid by the major gas pipelines. Use the aggregate average at the bottom if your purchaser is not listed. Texas Condensate Price Index Monthly average prices paid for crude oil - similar to the gas portion of this site. West Texas Research Group (WTRG) has an eye-opening section on their site titled "Did you get enough for your crude oil?" Operators are ranked by their performance relative to the MARKET PRICE after adjustment for the quality of crude produced, its location, and the producer's volume of production. This study covers several Texas counties, contact them if you would like them to perform such a study for you! Merrick Systems Has free Texas Production Data on their site for both oil and gas wells. Updated monthly, but you'll need to know API numbers(each well has a unique API #) to use this. |
